Simone Lai

Simone Lai was born in Cagliari on 19 October 1978. From an early age was fascinated by music thanks to his father's tapes of the Beatles, Creedence, and others. In the early '90s rock-grunge music and culture conquered him. He bought his first electric guitar and his first amplifier. This choice will cost expensive especially for his neighbors. After a period to play within the four walls, when he was 17 years old he started to sing and play guitar in a band with some friends and classmates, whose repertoire ranges from grunge to italian rock. Unfortunately the band did not ever perform live.
He left the band in 1997. In the same year he was contacted by Andrea Murgia that involves him as a singer in a project called Sandglass, a rock band with a good number of tunes. Sandglass will perform several times live in Cagliari and its hinterland, the band will give to Simone the possibility to grow by the presence of talented and creative musicians. The band changed lineup and this project was interrupted, not without regret, in 2001. The same members of Sandglass changed musical directions and intentions, then the name too. Simone didn't approved those artistic choices and he left the band.
Then he founded an acoustic project called So Real with an ex member of Sandglass, they play covers from Bob Dylan to Radiohead, through the Queen and the Beatles and their songs aswell. So Real played a lot of gigs in the hinterland. The project was interrupted in 2003 for study purposes.
After seven years, in October of 2010 he was contacted by Andrea Murgia that raises the possibility of joining the project Number H. Simone feels right at home with members and their sounds. Here begins his new adventure with Number H.
